PUBLIC HEARING - TOURIST DEVELOPMENT TAX <br />The hour of 9:05 o'clock A.M. having passed, the Deputy <br />Clerk read the following Notice with Proof of Publication <br />attached, to wit: <br />VERO BEACH PRESS -JOURNAL <br />Published Weekly <br />Vero Beach, Indian River County, Florida <br />COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER: <br />STATE OF FLORIDA <br />Before the undersigned authority personally appeared J. J. SCURLOCK, JR„ CHAIRMAN <br />Dec. 23,1986._.. <br />Assistant Attorney Bruce Barkettcadvised that we have met <br />the criteria for imposing a tourist development tax, and that <br />approval of the proposed ordinance will also authorize a <br />referendum on approval of a tourist development tax in two <br />subcounty taxing districts, one for the City of Vero Beach and <br />the other for the rest of the county. <br />Commissioner Wheeler advised that the Tourist Development <br />Council recommended that we go with the option of 20 rather than <br />1%, and that, if possible, the tax be applied to camp sites or <br />both tents and recreational vehicle spaces. The Florida Dept. <br />of Revenue has stated that decision would be up to the <br />JAN 2 7 M7 58 <br />
