Tuesday, February 17, 1987 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />February 17, 1987, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Margaret C. Bowman, Vice Chairman; <br />Richard N. Bird; Carolyn K. Eggert; and Gary C. Wheeler. Also <br />present were L. S. "Tommy" Thomas, Intergovernmental Relations <br />Director, sitting in for Administrator Charles Balczun, who was <br />out of state on county business; Charles P. Vitunac, Attorney to <br />the Board of County Commissioners; Joseph Baird, OMB Director; <br />and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting -to order. <br />Reverend Don Crosby of Forest Park Baptist Church gave the <br />invocation, and Chairman Scurlock led the Pledge of Allegiance to <br />the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Commissioner Eggert wished to add the following two items <br />under her matters: <br />1) Discussion dealing with finding a site for a Drug Rehabilita- <br />tion Center, and <br />2) Securing trees from the Urban Revitalization Program. <br />Chairman Scurlock asked that an item be added as requested <br />by the OMB Director in regard to reducing retainage to make <br />payments on Phase I of the Jail. <br />OMB Director Baird also wished to add to today's agenda an <br />item in regard to purchasing used equipment for Sandridge Golf <br />Course. <br />Commissioner Bird advised that he would make a brief report <br />on the Park 8 Recreation Committee meeting. <br />FEB BOOK <br />1? <br />98 <br />
