He clarified that <br />they are giving us a price break just for the opportunity to bid; <br />we have no commitment to them at all. <br />Commissioner Eggert believed the memo states that Interna- <br />tional Golf will have the diving rights, but Mr. Komarinetz noted <br />that is for only for 60 days and we can refuse within that 60 <br />days. <br />Discussion continued regarding whether the bid is competi- <br />tive, whether we are committed or not, etc., and Commissioner <br />Bird did feel the bid is competitive; it just is not on the same <br />basis we are used to. <br />Chairman Scurlock believed there is a national corporation <br />that might be able to submit a very competitive bid, and Mr. <br />Komarinetz felt International Golf probably is the corporation he <br />is referring to. He believed International Golf is at Bent Pine <br />Golf Course, and this corporation is all over the world. <br />Commissioner Wheeler inquired where we stand legally with <br />this type bid process as he felt it may be discouraging some from <br />bidding if they find out someone has the option to meet their <br />Attorney Vitunac agreed it could discourage people from <br />bidding, but pointed out that a determination has been made by <br />our Professional that this is the best way to get this operation <br />under way for the first year. <br />Commissioner Bird pointed out that main thing we are doing <br />is buying 1,000 dozen balls at $4.30 a dozen which Golf Pro <br />Komarinetz feels is a very competitive price, and we are not <br />making any commitment <br />beyond <br />that <br />other than when we <br />go <br />out for <br />bids for diving in the <br />lakes <br />that <br />we will give them <br />the <br />right of <br />first refusal on that for one year. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Eggert, the Board unanimously accepted the <br />26 <br />
