Chairman Scurlock believed the County's position is just <br />that the area ought to be under one jurisdiction or the other, <br />and he wished to know if there were any objections to pursuing <br />the City annexing this area. <br />Commissioner Bowman suggested that it be pursued with the <br />land owners up there to see what they want. <br />Commissioner Bird stated he had no objection and felt the <br />City should have the first shot at it. <br />City Manager Little suggested we ask the two Planning staffs <br />to get together and make a recommendation as to what a reasonable <br />annexation area and boundaries would be and then talk to the <br />property owners. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously directed <br />the County Planning staff to work with the City <br />Planning staff and proceed as suggested by City <br />Manager Little. <br />ON MOTION by Mayor Acor, SECONDED by Councilman Howard, <br />the City Council unanimously directed the City Plan- <br />ning staff to work with the County Planning staff and <br />proceed as suggested by City Manager Little. <br />(2.) Annexation in General <br />Chairman Scurlock noted that he had a group in today from <br />The Moorings readdressing the issue of annexation.
