Commissioner Wheeler noted that he ran into a similar <br />situation when he was on the Airport Development Commission, and <br />he refused to file because he was in an advisory capacity. There <br />was a lot of confusion about what was supposed to be done. <br />ON MOTION MADE by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously agreed to <br />ignore the recommendation by the Commission on Ethics <br />to impose a $300 fine. <br />Commissioner Bird felt it would be appropriate for the <br />Chairman to write Mr. Lewis informing him of the Board''s action, <br />apologize for the embarrassment this has caused him, and thank <br />him again for his services. The Chairman agreed he would do so. <br />REPORT ON TRANSPORTATION PLANNING COMMITTEE <br />Commissioner Bowman presented the following summary of <br />actions and asked that the Board just accept the report: <br />TRANSPORTATION PLANNING COMMITTEE <br />SUMMARY OF ACTIONS <br />April 8, 1987 MEETING <br />1. COUNTY ROAD 512/ROSELAND ROAD/LACONIA STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br />The Committee discussed conceptual improvements to this <br />intersection in conjunction with the Sebastian Lakes <br />Development Plan. Approval was given to a demonstration <br />project to construct a 4 -lane divided roadway for CR -512 in <br />the old railroad right-of-way; to use impact fees for the, <br />funding; to align Roseland Road and Laconia Street and to <br />have staff work out engineering details with the developer. <br />2. 43rd AVENUE TRAFFIC OPERATIONS PLAN <br />Report presentation and discussion was tabled due to the <br />lack of a quorum. <br />3. OLD DIXIE HIGHWAY RAILROAD CROSSING <br />Sebastian representative Kenneth Roth presented the <br />Committee with a memorandum from the Sebastian Planning and <br />Zoning Commission asking that the Old Dixie railroad <br />crossing not be traded or removed. No action was taken. <br />4. TREASURE COAST REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL MEETING <br />The Committee was informed of a Treasure Coast Regional <br />Planning Council workshop to be held on April 13 to discuss <br />various Florida Department of Transportation issues, and <br />that local representatives are welcome to provide input at <br />the workshop. <br />105 <br />APR 1 1987 BOOK �3 PAGE 10 <br />
