Cables Between Administration Center and Courthouse <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 3/30/87: <br />TO: Edwin M. Fry, Jr. DATE: March 30, 1987 FILE: <br />Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Cables between Administration <br />Center and Courthouse. <br />FROM:Don Hylton,REFERENCES: <br />Director of nformation Systems <br />After receiving approval from the Board to install fiberoptic cables between <br />the Courthouse and the Administration Center, I contacted the vendor who had <br />given me the quote for the turnkey installation to tell them to procede with <br />the installation. Two days later I receive a call telling me they had made <br />a mistake in their bid and could not comply with the quote given. The mistake <br />amounted to over $9,000.00 higher than what was approved. <br />At this higher cost, the fiberoptic method would not be cost effective, so <br />I recommend that we go with the moving of our current cables at a cost of <br />$4,000.00 and make additions as needed. <br />Lam' <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved <br />the recommendation of staff to go with the moving of <br />our current cables at a cost of $4,000 and make <br />additions as needed, instead of installing fiberoptic <br />cables at a cost of $15,200, as previously approved at <br />the meeting of 3/24/87. <br />
