Tuesday, May 5, 1987 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />May 5, 1987, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. Scurlock, <br />Jr., Chairman; Margaret C. Bowman, Vice Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird; Carolyn K. Eggert; and Gary C. Wheeler. Also present were <br />Charles P. Balczun, County Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, <br />Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Joseph Baird, OMB <br />Director; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order, and Attorney <br />Vitunac led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Scurlock announced that staff wished to remove two <br />items from today's agenda, as follows: <br />6B - Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract with the City of <br />Sebastian <br />12A- Request to Adopt Resolution urging establishment of a <br />Florida Dept. of Veteran's Affairs <br />The Chairman further advised that Item 6D - Malone Petition <br />for Abandonment - will be removed from the Consent Agenda and <br />heard as Item 80 as it requires a Public Hearing. <br />Chairman Scurlock wished to add a report on the Medical <br />Examiner's request for additional funds as Item 12A, and asked <br />that a report on Library site appraisals and a report on ALS be <br />added under Commissioner Eg9ert's matters. <br />L MAY 51987 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved the <br />above additions and deletions from today's agenda. <br />BOOK 68 fg ;L 2ll <br />
