Egge C REFERENCES: <br />Commissioner <br />Recently we amended the IL, Light Industrial Zone, to <br />include stone, clay, glass and concrete products. <br />I am working with a group that would like to start an <br />injection molding business here in town. In contrast to the <br />actual making of plastic which belongs in the General Industrial <br />Zone, injection molding turns a plastic pellet into a plastic <br />product. This type of production can be easily accommodated in <br />light industry. <br />The same is true of the making of certain rubber products <br />(hose) rather than the making of rubber tires. <br />The only other area not dealt with in IL is certain paper <br />products. <br />I would like the Board of County Commissioners to direct the <br />Planning Department to amend the IL District Ordinance. <br />Commissioner Eggert noted that all she is asking is that we <br />simply request the Planning Department to start this through as <br />an amendment. What they are looking at is not the businesses <br />that would disturb the environment, but those that are very <br />carefully monitored. There would be no waste products from this, <br />and she felt perhaps there also may be some paper products we <br />haven't looked at that we might want to consider. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, to direct the Planning Depart- <br />ment to start the amendment proposed in the above <br />memo through the process. <br />Commissioner Bowman had many concerns.
