MAY ,5 1991 <br />BOOK 68 Fvt 244 <br />committee and the Advisory Board because of its location amongst <br />the schools and the road access situation. She noted that they <br />also looked at the site where the library is currently located <br />based on the idea of razing the whole block, but that still would <br />only give us three acres. <br />Commissioner Bird inquired about the money for appraisals <br />and whether Commissioner Eggert wanted appraisals done on all <br />these pieces of property. <br />Commissioner Eggert advised they do not necessarily want <br />appraisals done on alt of them. She would like appraisals done <br />on two in Vero Beach - the Catron property and that by the 2001 <br />Building - and in Sebastian, if necessary, the two on U.S.1 by <br />WalMart, but she trusted they would be working out with one of <br />the first two choices there. She explained that their first <br />choice in Sebastian is a piece right next to the park, which the <br />City is trying to purchase by a grant through the League of <br />Cities. They wish to either sell or lease half of that to us. <br />Commissioner Eggert emphasized that she would like to have the <br />appraisals done only when they are down to the end of the <br />negotiating. <br />OMB Director Baird suggested that appraisals be authorized <br />on three parcels in each area, and Commissioner Eggert stated <br />that she would like an option to have any parcel appraised, but <br />not more than a total of six. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the need for appraisals as <br />opposed to just Learning the assessed values from the tax rolls. <br />OMB Director Baird believed you need appraisals, especially <br />when you are in the public eye, and Commissioner Eggert confirmed <br />that the intent is to negotiate until the bitter end, and when <br />they are down to three in each area, they would like to have <br />appraisals done. <br />Commissioner Bowman asked if Commissioner Eggert couldn't <br />come back to the Board after doing some negotiating, and Attorney <br />Vitunac noted that they would like to get permission to receive <br />34 <br />
