QUN <br />0 1987 <br />BOOK <br />68 PAGE 501 <br />County Engineer Ralph Brescia <br />recommended that the <br />Board <br />first consider Items 1-6, which exceed the 67% voluntary <br />criteria, and then consider Items 7-11, which might be a little <br />controversial. <br />Chairman Scurlock opened the Public Hearing on the following <br />projects: <br />1) 3rd Street from 32nd Avenue to Dead End. <br />2) 11th Court S.W. North of Oslo Road <br />3) 18th Avenue from 1st Street. S.W. to 1st Place <br />4) 17th Avenue, North of 37th Street <br />5) 14th Avenue from 1st Street S.W. to 2nd Street <br />6) Commerce Avenue <br />There being no one who wished to be heard, the Chairman <br />closed the Public Hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved <br />staff's recommendations on the 6 projects listed above, <br />at an interest rate of 12%. <br />Item 7 - Sea Turtle Lane, East of AIA <br />Mr. Brescia asked that Item 7 be postponed at this time. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously postponed <br />the consideration of the paving of Sea Turtle Lane, <br />east of AIA, as requested by County Engineer Brescia. <br />Item 8 - St. Christopher Lane, East of AIA <br />Mr. Brescia advised that staff's recommendation is to go <br />ahead with the paving, and Chairman Scurlock understood that <br />the basic purpose of paving the road is to eliminate a grader <br />route, which will result in savings of $150,000 to the County and <br />will eliminate the safety problems involved in taking a grader <br />all that way down AIA. <br />13 <br />
