ijum 1987 1 <br />BOOK 68, FvJE 541 <br />Commissioner Eggert explained that she brought this matter <br />to the Board today because she feels there was some <br />miscommunication regarding the building insurance. She <br />emphasized that the Women's Club works very hard to raise the <br />money for the present insurance premiums, and it has been her <br />hope that if the additional hours contributed by the County to <br />the Fellsmere project resulted in them having to pay a higher <br />insurance premium, the County would pay the extra amount. At <br />present, she did not know for sure if there would be any <br />additional premium costs or what they would amount to, but would <br />like the lease to read that we will pay any difference in the <br />insurance. <br />Commissioner Bowman suggested that we wait until we see if <br />there is any increase in the premium, but Commissioner Eggert <br />wished to take the Commission's feelings in this matter back to <br />them at this Thursday's meeting. <br />Chairman Scurlock stated that he did not have a problem with <br />it, and pointed out that the County assumes a certain degree of <br />liability when we decide to operate a library. <br />Commissioner Eggert cautioned that the Fellsmere program may <br />not be successful and could cease at any time. <br />Administrator Balczun stated he did not disagree with the <br />concept of the County paying for part of the insurance, but did <br />not want to convey the message to them that they could choose the <br />coverage and then apportion the costs. <br />Chairman Scurlock suggested that we set an amount and <br />indicate that we are willing to participate financially. <br />It was agreed that Commissioner Eggert would take the <br />message back to the Fellsmere Library Association that the Board <br />would participate in the expanded insurance coverage necessary to <br />operate the library. <br />Commissioner Bird wanted to know, at some point, what amount <br />that participation would be, and Commissioner Eggert advised that <br />53 <br />- M <br />
