Tuesday, August 18, 1987 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />August 18, 1987, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Margaret C. Bowman, Vice Chairman; <br />Richard N. Bird; and Gary C. Wheeler. Absent was Carolyn K. <br />Eggert, who was out of state on vacation. Also present were <br />Charles P. Balczun, County Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, <br />Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Joseph Baird, OMB <br />Director; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Reverend Paul Hauenstein, Christ the King Lutheran Church, <br />Sebastian, gave the invocation, and Administrator Balczun led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />There were none. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Chairman asked if there were any additions or correc- <br />tions to the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 21, 1987. <br />Commissioner Bird had one minor correction in the last para- <br />graph on Page 42 - where he was quoted as saying the child care <br />center would not have an "adverse affect on property rights," it - <br />should be corrected to read "on property values." <br />There were no further corrections. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Wheeler, Commissioner Eggert being absent, <br />the Board unanimously (4-0) approved the Minutes of <br />the Regular Meeting of July 21, 1987, as corrected. <br />AUG 18 1987 BOOK 69 FACE 82 <br />
