Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works DirectoaY <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Staff publically advertised for architectural consultants to submit letters <br />of interest for architectural services to renovate the First Floor of the <br />Administration Building. The following three firns submitted letters of <br />interest: <br />Schemmer Associates, Inc. - Orlando, Fl. <br />Frizzell Architects - Palm Beach Gardens, F1. <br />Smith, Korach, Hayet, Haynie Partnership - Ft. Lauderdale, F1. <br />The'•Selection Committee met on August 27, 1987, to interview the above <br />firms. The small scope of work was discussed, and all three firms expressed <br />an interest in working on an hourly basis to assist staff in securing a <br />building permit to implement the renovations. <br />RECODEMATIONS AND FUMING <br />The Selection Committee recommends that a short -form contract be negotiated <br />with Schermer Associates, Inc., of Orlando Fl. for the First Floor Reno- <br />vations. Funding to be from Buildings and Grounds Budget. <br />Commissioner Eggert questioned the scope of what is being <br />done, and asked whatever happened to the big air-conditioning <br />study that was supposed to be done because she has yet to see a <br />difference in the system. <br />Lynn Williams, Superintendent'of Building & Grounds <br />explained that staff is into the second phase of the <br />air-conditioning study and are at the point where they need to <br />look at the control systems to see if some modifications can be <br />made to improve what we have.
