He explained that the State Legislature mandates when <br />we meet, and unfortunately the budget process has to take place <br />in the summertime. At that time we hold continuous budget <br />workshops where all departments and Constitutional Officers <br />appear for the Commission to review their proposed budgets and <br />make cuts. This year during those sessions, the Board made <br />around $800,000 worth of cuts. The process to be followed <br />tonight is that he will open the public hearing on each fund; <br />then he will announce the percentage increase in millage over <br />rollback rate necessary to fund that budget, if any, and the <br />specific purposes for which the ad valorem taxes are being <br />4 <br />
