N. Ryanwood Lease (Tax Collector's Office) <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 9/15/87: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />DATE: September 15, 1987 <br />SUBJECT: Ryanwood Lease (Tax Collector's Office) <br />FROM: Bruce Barkett� Assistant County Attorney <br />The County Administrator, through the County Attorney's <br />Office, hereby requests approval and authorization to enter <br />into the attached lease agreement between TCF Florida <br />Investment, Inc. (landlord at Ryanwood Plaza) and Indian <br />River County (for the Tax Collector's Office). <br />Commissioner Eggert understood this is for storage room and <br />asked if it was the most economical storage. <br />Administrator Balczun understood that Tax Collector Gene <br />Morris intends to open a branch office in Ryanwood to issue <br />commercial plates. <br />Commissioner Eggert wondered why he would want that location <br />rather than U.S. #1 where most of the car dealers are located. <br />OMB Director Joe Baird suggested that we ask Gene Morris to <br />come into the Chambers to explain his plans. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously tabled <br />this item until later in the morning. <br />Approximately an hour later, Gene Morris explained that it <br />was misunderstood that this office would serve only the <br />commercial dealers. It will be a full service branch for the <br />public. The reason for locating in that area is due to the <br />tremendous growth to the west and the many mobile home owners who <br />have to obtain mobile home decals and pay personal property <br />taxes.
