Tuesday, September 29, 1987 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County,_ <br />Florida, met in Special Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />September 29, 1987, at 8:30 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Margaret C. Bowman, Vice Chairman; <br />Richard N. Bird; Carolyn K. Eggert; and Gary C. Wheeler. Also <br />present were Charles P. Balczun, County Administrator; Charles P. <br />Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; and <br />Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order and announced that <br />it was called because of the emergency ordinance needed to allow <br />us to collect Bent Pine Utility's impact fees and because of the <br />critical timing involved with the FmHA financing for the Gifford <br />area sewer project. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />County Attorney Vitunac wished to add a contract for sale <br />and reservation of road right-of-way with Ceiba -Geigy Corpora- <br />tion, and explained the emergency is that they were planning for <br />the building permits to be pulled as soon as this was done. They <br />Federal Expressed the documents, but they came in just too late <br />to make the last agenda deadline. <br />Chairman Scurlock inquired why it can't wait until next <br />week's meeting, and Attorney Vitunac advised that we are in <br />negotiations now with Ceiba -Geigy on other matters where they are <br />trying to be very helpful to the county, and they asked this <br />small favor so it wouldn't hold up their project another week. <br />Commissioner,Bird believed they are doing a$1.4 million <br />SEP 2 � `ebb! 600K 69 PAcE'554 <br />
