Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />SUBJECT: Contract for Architectural <br />Services - First Floor <br />Administration Building <br />Renovations <br />REFERENCES: <br />Staff has negotiated the attached contract for Architectural Services to <br />renovate the First Floor Administration Building. Schemmer Associates, <br />Inc., Orlando, Florida has agreed to provide architectural services on an <br />hourly rate with a not -to -exceed cost of $5,500. The County utility. <br />Director and County Administrator -have reviewed the scope of work. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Since renovations to a government building requires the seal of a Florida <br />Registered Architect, staff presents no other alternative than securing <br />architectural services. <br />The design fee was negotiated from approximately $20,000 to $5,500. All <br />appropriate insurances are provided for, and the County Attorney's office <br />has approved the contract form. <br />RECCMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />It is recomnended that the chairman be authorized to execute the agreement. <br />Funding in the amount of $5,500 to be fran Fund 001-220-519-033.19, Build- <br />ing Operations - unencumbered balance is $12,000. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously (4-0) approved <br />the agreement with The Schemmer Associates, Inc., <br />Architect; authorized the signature of the Chairman; <br />and approved funding in the amount of $5,500 from <br />Fund 001-220-519-033.19, Building Operations. <br />(SAID AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE BOARD) <br />OCT 3 _ BOOK 69 M- E 5.81 <br />
