This Ordinance was advertised in the Vero Beach <br />Press -Journal on the 16th day of September , 1987, for a <br />public hearing to be held on the 6th day of October <br />1987, at which time it was moved for adoption by <br />Commissioner Eggert seconded by Comnissioner <br />Wheeler , and adopted by the following vote: <br />Chairman Don C. Bowman, <br />Vice Chairman <br />DISCUSS AGREEMENT - EQUIPMENT RENTAL STAND AT WABASSO BEACH <br />Commissioner Bird reported that the proposed agreement with <br />Orchid Isle Sports was made through the Parks & Recreation <br />Committee. This firm presently operates a store adjacent to <br />Wabasso Beach and does rent items of equipment to be used at the <br />beach. Their request is to be able to set up a small operation <br />actually on the beach, thus making it more convenient for <br />everyone. Although the Parks & Recreation Committee does not <br />favor a proliferation of such services on the beach, they do <br />favor this proposal because it is providing item that will allow <br />people coming to the beach to enjoy themselves more. The <br />equipment involved is such things as Boogie Boards, rubber rafts, <br />beach umbrellas and beach chairs. <br />Commissioner Eggert asked if anyone is doing anything like <br />this on the beach now and was informed they are not. <br />Administrator Balczun advised that this was a matter of <br />substantial discussion at staff's weekly meeting. Staff has <br />little difficulty with the proposal inasmuch as it is a one year <br />37 <br />RJGK. 69 F��t- 615 <br />
