r" -,DCT 6 1987 <br />BOOK 69, PAGE 620 <br />2. it is shown to the satisfaction of the Board of County <br />Commissioners that construction at a level indicating a good <br />faith effort to proceed with the completion of the project <br />has not occurred for a continuous period of six (6) months, <br />unless the inactivity is attributable to the deliberate and <br />scheduled phasing of a multiphase project which has been <br />approved as such by the County. <br />A site plan application was originally approved on this site <br />September 9, 1978 and expired September 9, 1979. The project was <br />re-site planned and approved July 12, 1984. The site plan was <br />approved for 155,026 sq. ft. of retail space and 6,330 sq. ft. of <br />restaurant space. <br />Chronology <br />County records reflect the following chronology of events with <br />regard to the construction of a shopping center on this site: <br />September 8, 1978: The first application for a shopping center is <br />filed. <br />September 28, 1978: The first shopping center project site plan <br />is approved for this site, and a zoning permit issued. <br />September 28, 1978 -September 1, 1979: The site is cleared of all <br />vegetation, helping to prompt the creation of a tree protection <br />ordinance. No construction was started. <br />November 14, 1979: The Board of County Commissioners terminates <br />site plan approval by denying a request for a 90 day site plan <br />extension. <br />The property changes owners during the interim. <br />May 5, 1984: The current (existing) site plan application is <br />filed for the shopping center project. <br />July 5, 1984: The Planning and Zoning Board grants site plan <br />approval with conditions of right-of-way dedication and inter- <br />section signalization. <br />May 10, 1985: An application is filed to subdivide the property <br />by Mr. M. Woolsey. <br />- May 15, 1985: A building permit is issued. <br />June 27, 1985: The preliminary plat for South Vero Square is <br />approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />July 3, 1985: Building department inspects footers. <br />July 5, 1985: Building department re -inspects footers. <br />December 19, 1985: A retention pond is dug and building pads are <br />brought up to elevation. <br />December 20, 1985: The building permit is extended 90 days, to <br />expire February 28, 1986. <br />- - February 24, 1986: The building permit is extended 90 days, to <br />expire May 16, 1986. <br />March 26, 1986: The building permit is extended 90 days, to <br />expire August 13, 1986. <br />August 13, 1986: The building permit is extended 30 days, to <br />expire September 18, 1986. <br />r <br />r <br />
