Communi- <br />cations of Vero has advised that the validator would cost $190.00 <br />for each radio and this price includes coding and installation. <br />The purchase of this equipment was not planned for in the respect- <br />ive budgets of the Emergency Management, North County Fire District, <br />or the ambulance squads due to late receipt of the information. <br />The following. County radio units will need the validators installed <br />and funded prior to January 1, 1988. <br />Emergency Management <br />Twelve radios @ $190.00 each = $2,280 <br />Sebastian Volunteer Fire De artment <br />Twenty -Three (23) radios @ $190.00 each = $4,370 <br />Vero Lake Estates Volunteer Fire Department <br />Nine (9) radios @ $190.00 each = $1,710 <br />Roseland Volunteer Fire Department <br />Fourteen (14) radios @ $190.00 each = $2,660 <br />Wabasso Volunteer Fire Department <br />Nine (9) radios @ $190.00 each = $1,710 <br />Fellsmere Volunteer Fire Department <br />Eight (8) radios @ $190.00 each = $1,520 <br />Fellsmere Volunteer Ambulance Squad <br />Three (3) radios @ $190.00 each = $570 <br />Indian River County Volunteer Ambulance Squad <br />Seven (7) radios @ $190.00 each = $1,330 <br />Sebastian Volunteer Ambulance squad <br />Four (4) radios @ $190.00 each = $760 <br />Total funds required for GE Star Validators $16,910. <br />The North Indian River County Fire Taxing District budget will require <br />the approval of an amendment for the expenditure of these funds. <br />Funds for Emergency Management and the volunteer ambulance squads <br />radio equipment apparently will have to be made available from the <br />County General Fund amending the budget earlier approved. <br />It is respectfully requested that action be taken by the Board of <br />County Commissioners to approve and/or direct the appropriate response <br />so the various EMS/Fire agencies will be able to interface the CAD/ <br />Central Dispatch System by January 1, 1987. <br />► <br />54 <br />
