C. Proclamation Honoring Charlie Blaney <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, CHARLIE BLANEY has been part of the Dodger's Minor <br />League operation for the past 20 years; and <br />WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Dodgers today named CHARLIE BLANEY <br />as Director of Minor League Operations; and <br />WHEREAS, CHARLIE BLANEY has served the organization as a <br />Minor League General Manager for eight years; two years.at single <br />A; three years at double A; three years at triple A; and he has <br />served the Vero Beach minor league franchise the past 13 seasons; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, CHARLIE BLANEY started with the Dodgers in 1966 _ <br />and was named Minor League General Manager of the Year by the <br />Sporting News in 1969 and Executive of the Year in the Pacific - <br />Coast League in 1972; and <br />WHEREAS, CHARLIE BLANEY has been the Managing Director of <br />Dodgertown - the world's largest and most complete sports <br />training complex since 1974; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1986/87 the United Way celebrated 25 years of <br />community services in Indian River County and CHARLIE BLANEY and <br />his wife DAWN were the 1986/87 United Way 25th Anniversary <br />Campaign Chairmen, and raised a record breaking $552,000; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board <br />expresses deep appreciation for the service CHARLIE BLANEY has <br />performed on behalf. of Indian River County. <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that our heartfelt wishes for his <br />success go with him. <br />October 9, 1987 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />BY J <br />Don C.
