Balczun <br />County Administrator <br />SUBJECT: Professional <br />Architectural/Planning <br />Services Agreement -Indian <br />River County Fifth <br />Courtroom <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P. REFERENCES: <br />Public Works Directo <br />Description and Conditions <br />The Public Works Department staff has prepared and <br />transmitted to Architects Design Group, Inc., Winter Park, <br />Florida, the attached Professional Services Agreement. The scope <br />of work has been carefully prepared and the architectural design <br />fee has been negotiated to result in a basic services fee of <br />$16,860.00. Using a construction estimate of $200,000., the fee <br />is approximately 8.4% of the construction cost. <br />Recommendation and Funding <br />It is recommended that the Chairman be authorized to execute <br />the agreement and that a NOTICE TO PROCEED be issued. <br />Funding to be from 106-901-516-033.19, unencumbered balance <br />$30,000, Court Facilities Fund. <br />Commissioner Wheeler stated that he had a concern and was <br />going to pull the item in the beginning but neglected to do so, <br />and he would like some direction from the Commission. He noted <br />that we now are looking at the short list of consultants and <br />recommending one of them on December 2nd for our space needs <br />study, and he would like to hold off on this agreement until the <br />firm that does our space needs study can take a look at the fifth <br />courtroom as to what we need, what size, where it ought to go, <br />etc. <br />Commissioner Eggert asked what space needs study he was <br />referring to, and Commissioner wheeler advised it was the space <br />needs study for the Criminal Justice Complex. <br />X24.1997 37 <br />BOOK 70 FmGF 179 <br />L_ <br />
