®E C 1 1987Boor �70 oaf 242 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by, <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 87-141, authorizing the Medical Examiner <br />for the 19th District to charge a $10 fee for the <br />preparation and issuance of cremation certificates. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87- 141 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MEDICAL <br />EXAMINER FOR THE NINETEENTH DISTRICT TO <br />CHARGE A TEN DOLLAR FEE FOR THE <br />PREPARATION AND ISSUANCE OF CREMATION <br />CERTIFICATES BY THE MEDICAL EXAMINER <br />AND/OR HIS STAFF FOR INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, has made the following <br />determinations: <br />1. The District Medical Examiner is required by <br />law to prepare and issue a Cremation Certificate for'each <br />cremation performed in Indian River County, Florida. <br />2. Preparation, issuance and compliance with said <br />requests consume considerable time and effort at a <br />substantial expense to Indian River County with the benefit <br />derived from such actions attributable to a small minority <br />of Indian River County taxpayers. <br />3. It is in the best interest of the taxpayers of <br />Indian River County for this Commission to establish a fair <br />and reasonable fee schedule to cover the costs of the <br />District Medical Examiner's office in preparing and <br />providing the documents noted herein. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida: <br />1. The District Medical Examiner, in and for the <br />Nineteenth District of the State of Florida, is hereby <br />authorized to charge each funeral home a fee of ten dollars <br />for the preparation and issuance of a Cremation Certificate <br />required by Chapter 406, Florida Statutes. <br />49 <br />
