DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Bids were received Wednesday, January 6, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. for IRC BID <br />#384 - One (1) New 60" Riding Mower for the Parks Division. <br />Sixteen Bid Proposals were sent out. Four bids were received. <br />2. ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The second lowest bid, was submitted by DeBra Turf and Industrial <br />Equipment Company in the amount of $5,835 for a Cushman model #804. <br />The low bid was rejected because it did not meet specifications. <br />The State Contract has no equivalent. <br />3. RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends that IRC BID #384 be accepted and that the purchase <br />be accomplished from DeBra Turf and Industrial Equipment Company. <br />Budgetary approval has been confirmed for expenditure from the Parks <br />Division Account Number 001-210-572-066.49. <br />Staff requests authorization to order the riding mower. <br />Commissioner Eggert wished to know in what way the low bid <br />did not meet specifications as the memo does not say. <br />Asst. Administrator Mattes introduced Gus Ambler, the new <br />professional purchasing manager who started just last week, and <br />after consulting with him, advised that the low bidder was not <br />able to provide the 22 h.p. called for nor the 12" tires. <br />,JAN i 91988 <br />L <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously awarded Bid <br />#384 for a 60" Riding Lawn Mower to DeBra Turf and <br />19 <br />BOOK 70 r, 579 <br />
