He suggested that Commissioner Wheeler sit on the <br />committee and vote his convictions. <br />Commissioner Wheeler stated that he would fight the issue on <br />a higher level, since we are being forced into this position by <br />the State with its mandates, and Chairman Scurlock stated that he <br />would be willing to serve on the committee to represent the Board <br />of County Commissioners. <br />Attorney Vitunac advised that the County also has the choice <br />of sending these prisoners to Okeechobee County at a cost of $43 <br />a day per prisoner, but Administrator Balczun advised that only 5 <br />of our prisoners were able to meet the requirements laid down by <br />that county. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously <br />established the Jail Oversight Committee and changed <br />the name to Inmate Review Committee, to be comprised of <br />the following members: <br />- Chief Judge of the Circuit Court, or his <br />representative <br />- Public Defender, or his representative <br />- State Attorney, or his representative <br />- County Judge <br />- Member of the Board of County Commissioners <br />and appointed Chairman Scurlock as the representative <br />of the Board of County Commissioners and Judge Kilbride <br />to represent the County Judges. <br />70 <br />
