f B ` '6 1958 <br />BOOK F ;,E 848 <br />Chairman Scurlock believed the Board action needed is to <br />accept the $22,000 and make the necessary amendment to the <br />Supervisor of Election's budget and also approve the use of the <br />voting equipment. <br />Attorney Vitunac stressed that the County Commission has no <br />legal say so regarding the advisability of holding the special <br />election; their sole function is to act as a conduit for the <br />money to go into the fund to pay for the election and to <br />authorize the use of the voting machines. Any other question <br />about this election should be addressed to the School Board. <br />Commissioner Wheeler personally was disappointed that we are <br />having a special election when we have four ballots coming up <br />this year, and he agreed with Mrs. Bowden, the School Board <br />member who voted against it as being a waste of money. <br />Commissioner Eggert also regretted they are having to do <br />this, but pointed out that it is the choice of the School Board. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously accepted the <br />$22,000 check from the School Board, authorized the <br />transfer of the funds to the Special Election Account <br />#001-700-519-036.74, and authorized the use of voting <br />equipment as requested. <br />REQUEST OF VERO BEACH COUNTRY CLUB TO USE PROPERTY WEST OF <br />PROPOSED INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD EXPANSION <br />Attorney Kennon Hendrix came before the Board to discuss the <br />following proposal made by the Vero Beach Country Club: <br />30 <br />
