AUDITOR'S PRESENTATION OF COUNTY FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Finance Director Ed Fry introduced Christine Hill of Coopers <br />& Lybrand, partner in charge of the audit, and Dan O'Keefe, <br />Manager, commenting that he felt they did an excellent job and <br />that the changeover from the auditing firm of May Zima went very <br />smoothly. <br />Finance Director Fry then proceeded to give highlights from <br />the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the FY 1987, which <br />report includes not only the Board of County Commissioners, but <br />also the Constitutional Officers, the Fire Districts, and the <br />Housing Authority. <br />Director Fry referred to the following in particular: <br />Pages iv. and v. of the Introductory Letter show the increase in <br />general governmental revenues and in expenditures and include an <br />explanation as to why these increased. <br />GENERAL GOVERNMENTAL FUNCTIONS <br />Total revenues for the General, Special Revenue, .Debt Service and Capital <br />Projects Funds were $44,351,509 an increase of $9,268,114 over the 1986 <br />fiscal year. Increases in intergovernmental revenues were due to the <br />receipt of a $2,490,683.00 State Grant for land purchases, an increase in the <br />Section 8 Rental Assistance Grant, and more funds received from state Revenue <br />Sharing, the 1/24 sales tax, and gas taxes. The first full year of road <br />impact fees accounted for the increase'in charges for services. Fines and <br />forfeitures decreased due to changes in State Statutes setting fines and less' <br />funds received from confiscated property proceeds. Miscellaneous revenues <br />increased due to higher interest. earnings, greater special assessment collec- <br />tions, more rental income, and increases in the general and administrative <br />charges to the County's enterprise funds. <br />FEB 16 1988 <br />9 <br />bow, 70 fAuE 6,;;„'7 <br />
