COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />SUBJECT : TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE FOR TRAFFIC ENGINEERING <br />DATE MARCH 16, 1988 <br />Traffic Engineering Division employee George McAree experienced <br />and on-the-job injury on June 26, 1987. He attempted to return <br />to work immediately after the injury, but was able to do so only <br />for a short period. July 10, 1987.was his last day of work. He <br />suffered a herniated disc, and has had surgery to correct the <br />problem. Mr. McAree is currently being paid under the provisions <br />of our Worker's Compensation policy. He is not expected to be <br />able to return to work until June. <br />Division Head Mike Orr has requested that we hire a temporary <br />employee to alleviate the loss of Mr. McAree. The position would <br />a Maintenance Worker at an hourly rate of $4.77. The temporary <br />employee would be limited to a period of 3 months, 29 days, and <br />receive no County benefits other than the statutorily mandated <br />social security and worker's compensation coverage. <br />It is requested that this matter be brought before the Board to <br />secure their approval to create one temporary Maintenance Worker <br />position as stipulated above. <br />m.
