Tuesday, April 5, 1988 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />April 5, 1988, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Gary C. Wheeler, Vice Chairman; Richard <br />N. Bird; Margaret C. Bowman; and Carolyn K. Eggert. Also present <br />were Charles P. Balczun, County Administrator; Charles P. <br />Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; and <br />Barbara Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Dr. James Sanders of the Indian River Correctional <br />Institution gave the invocation, and Commissioner Wheeler led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Scurlock requested the following additions to <br />today's Agenda: <br />1) As Item 5 on the Consent Agenda, a proclamation for Rev. <br />Dr. Robert Stanley Sanford. <br />2) The establishment of a County Correctional Planning <br />Committee. <br />3) A discussion on the old Jail site. <br />Commissioner Eggert requested the addition of a <br />recommendation tor resurfacing several roads. <br />APR 5 1988 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously added <br />the above items to today's Agenda. <br />BOOK 71 ['AGE 418 <br />
