RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 whereby the formal bidding <br />process be waived and the work be awarded to J.B. Walker <br />Construction, Inc. at a cost of $11,700. Funding to be from Road <br />and Bridge Fund 111-214-541-066.31 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously <br />approved staff's recommendation as set out in the <br />above memo. <br />14TH STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION EAST OF US 1 -- LaCAVA AND <br />SOUTHGATE MOBILE HOME PARK PROPERTY <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 4/13/88: <br />TO: Charles P. Balczun, <br />County Administrator <br />THROUGH: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director -1 <br />FROM: Donald G. Finney, SRA <br />Right -of -Way Acquisition Agent <br />SUBJECT: 14th Street Right -of -Way Acquisition East off US 1 <br />LaCava and Southgate Mobile Home Park Property <br />DATE: April 13, 1988 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The Senior Citizen Center uses a part of 14th Street which the <br />County previously paved to 6th Avenue. <br />The Board authorized condemnation to acquire the right-of-way to <br />US 1 where no right-of-way exists. It was thought at that time <br />that Mrs. Grace LaCava owned the entire parcel. <br />After more lengthy title work, it was determined that Mrs. LaCava <br />owns two parcels and a third parcel separates the two and is <br />owned by Southgate Mobile Home Park. <br />Southgate is not willing to sell. Mrs. LaCava is willing to sell <br />the property to the County at $50,109. <br />There appear/to be encroachments <br />easements upon the property to <br />appraisal is for land only and <br />damages, relocation, prescriptive <br />that may be encountered. <br />APR 19 1988 <br />of parking spaces and private <br />be acquired at US 1.
