ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously granted <br />final plat approval to the Vista Royale Office Park <br />Subdivision, as recommended by staff. <br />5. IRC Bid #428 - Term Contract for Carpet <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 4121188: <br />TO: CHARLES BALCZUN <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: PURCHASING, <br />URCHA ING�MANAGER <br />1. DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />DATE: APRIL 21, 1988 FILE: <br />SUBJECT: IRC BID 46428 <br />TERM CONTRACT <br />FOR CARPET <br />REFERENCES: <br />Bids were received Wednesday, April 20, 1988, at 2:OOP.M. <br />for IRC BID #428. <br />12 Invitations to Bid were sent out, 6 Bids were received. <br />This Invitation to Bid was advertised in the newspaper. <br />2. ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS: <br />The low bid meeting our specifications was submitted by Sherwin <br />Williams Co. of Ft. Pierce at $14,980.00. The unit prices con- <br />tained in this bid represent a 30% savings to the County on <br />future carpet purchases. Sherwin Williams also submitted an <br />alternate carpet bid, which does not meet our specifications for <br />warranty or denier and should therefore be rejected. <br />3. RECOMENDATION AND FUNDING: <br />Staff recommends that we award this bid to Sherwin Williams <br />Co. <br />The yardage quantities contained in this bid are only estimates <br />of our yearly needs and the County is not required to purchase <br />any carpet if it so desires. This is a Term Contract bid to <br />establish the Vendor, Prices, and Terms of future carpet <br />purchases. The 1st Term of this contract shall be May 15, 1988 <br />to Sept. 30, 1988, with renewal options for Two additional years. <br />Purchasing is not currently holding any requisitions for the <br />purchase of carpet.
