McCoy VIA REFERENCES: <br />Staff Planner <br />newton <br />JOHN2 <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />regular meeting of May 10, 1988. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />On June 17, 1987, the Planning .and Zoning Commission approved a <br />major site plan application submitted by Arthur Newton. Approval <br />was given to construct a 21,846 sq. ft. retail shopping center at <br />the northwest corner of 74th Avenue and 20th Street. <br />Due to financing problems, Mr. Newton has been unable to commence <br />construction prior to the expiration of the approved site plan. <br />However, if no construction has begun by June 17, 1988,the site <br />plan approval will lapse unless otherwise extended by the Board of <br />County Commissioners. <br />No regulations have changed since the time of site plan approval. <br />Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23.2(G)(2), Appendix A of <br />the Zoning Code, Mr. Newton is requesting a full 1 year exten- <br />sion of the approved site plan. It has been the policy of the <br />Board to grant extensions to projects which conform to current <br />codes. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of Mr. Newton's request for a one <br />year extension of the approved site plan; the new expiration date <br />to be June 17, 1989. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously granted a one <br />year extension of site plan as requested by Arthur <br />Newton. <br />6 <br />SAY 1019 8 <br />QooK 72 r cE 28O <br />
