Tuesday, May 17, 1988 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, May <br />17, 1988, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. Scurlock, <br />Jr., Chairman; Gary C. Wheeler, Vice Chairman; Richard N. Bird; <br />Margaret C. Bowman; and Carolyn K. Eggert. Also present were <br />Charles P. Balczun, County Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, <br />Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Joseph Baird, OMB <br />Director; and Barbara Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Bruce Havens, Pastor of United Church of Christ, Sebastian, <br />gave the invocation, and Commissioner Bowman led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Scurlock requested the addition to today's Agenda <br />of the following items: <br />1. Brief status report on the Village Green potable water <br />problem. <br />2. Budget amendment for carpeting in Utilities Dept. <br />3. Budget amendment for copier for Library. <br />Commissioner Bowman requested the addition of the following <br />items: <br />1. Transportation Planning Committee report. <br />2. Request to establish a committee to study plan for <br />Jungle Trail. <br />3. Consideration of using Melaleuca trees as mulch instead <br />of Cypress trees. <br />Chairman Scurlock requested the deletion of Item 8-A-1 - <br />Hill's Petition for Right -of -Way Abandonment of a Portion of 4th <br />Avenue, S.E., as per the request of the applicant. <br />L___MAY 171988 <br />BOOK c AGE 333 <br />
