Miller P4(64 REFERENCES: <br />Chief, Environmental Planning <br />and Code Enforcement <br />It is requested -that the data presented herein be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />regular meeting of May 17, 1988. <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS: <br />The Board of County Commissioners held a .special meeting on <br />April 27, 1988 to consider the adoption of the revised Mining <br />Ordinance. At this public hearing several issues were <br />discussed and the Board of County Commissioners directed the <br />staff to make the following revisions to the proposed <br />ordinance. <br />1. Apply the 25' minimum average elevation on the sand <br />ridge to only those projects that fall under Saint <br />Johns River Water Management District permitting <br />thresholds (currently 12 acres); <br />2. Delete reference to road damage within 1/4 mile of <br />site and road damage bond; <br />3. Revise the calculation of the restoration bond to <br />include the area of excavation only, not the entire <br />project site; <br />4. Revise the compliance bond to apply to violations <br />chargeable to the mining permit holder only. <br />5. Require that all hauling trucks prominently display <br />the trucking company name on each vehicle. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners adopt <br />the revised Mining Ordinance in its present form. <br />AY 171988 <br />17 <br />so 72 E349 <br />
