Assistant County Attorney Sharon Brennan reported that she <br />received a copy of the proposed motion before Judge Hendry and <br />does not see any reason why he would not enter the order. <br />Commissioner Wheeler felt that the Legal staff should be <br />commended because this has been a long hard road and they have <br />worked over and beyond the call of duiy and have done an <br />outstanding job in bringing this to a completion. <br />Commissioner Bird wholeheartedly agreed that the present <br />Legal staff is outstanding. <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR MEDICAL EXAMINER <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 6/1/88: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Sharon Phillips Brennan -' (3 <br />Assistant County Attorney <br />DATE: June 1, 1988 <br />RE: INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR MEDICAL EXAMINER <br />A final draft of the proposed Interlocal Agreement <br />between the Medical Examiner, the Board of Trustees of <br />Indian River Community College and Indian River County, <br />Martin County, Okeechobee County and St. Lucie County is <br />presented today for your review and discussion. This final <br />draft is a culmination of seven months of meetings between <br />the various parties and input from the County Administrator <br />and the County Budget Director. <br />The Agreement consists of nine sections. Section One <br />deals with the status of the Medical Examiner and the <br />counties. Section Two sets out the rental agreement: <br />concerning the morgue at Indian River Community College. - <br />Section Three establishes the procedure to review and <br />approve the Medical Examiners budget (please note that this <br />agreement addresses a unified budget concept). Section Four <br />deals with the division of rental and operating expenses. <br />.section Five deals with the payment of rental and operating <br />expenses. Section Six addresses insurance and <br />indemnification. Section Seven contains covenants by the <br />Medical Examiner. Section Eight contains miscellaneous <br />provisions. Section Nine contains notice requirements. <br />The other three counties within the Nineteenth Judicial <br />Circuit will be reviewing this Agreement this week or next <br />week.
