SPECIAL CITY/COUNTY MEETING <br />Wednesday, June 8, 1988 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Special Session with the Vero Beach City Council <br />in the First Floor Conference Room, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, <br />Florida, on Wednesday, June 8, 1988, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. <br />Present were Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Gary C. Wheeler, <br />Vice Chairman; Richard N. Bird; Margaret C. Bowman; and Carolyn <br />K. Eggert. Also present were Charles P. Balczun, County <br />Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of <br />County Commissioners; Joseph Baird, OMB Director; and Virginia <br />Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />Present from the City of Vero Beach were Mayor Kenneth <br />Macht, Vice Mayor Warren Winchester, and Councilmen Hoyt Howard <br />and Michael Wodtke, Councilman Vernon Krause being absent. Also <br />present were City Manager John Little and City Attorney Terrence <br />O'Brien. <br />Chairman Scurlock called the meeting to order and advised <br />those present that he and Mayor Macht discussed and agreed on the <br />parameters and guidelines for this meeting; they have agreed to <br />keep the time of adjournment at 3:00 P.M.; that it basically will <br />be an informal discussion on policy between the City Council and <br />County Commission; and that Chairman Scurlock will run this <br />meeting and Mayor Macht will run the next one. <br />RECREATION <br />Chairman Scurlock informed those present that Commissioner <br />Bird has handled that County's recreation for theā€¢past eight <br />years and asked that he give everyone a general update. <br />'JUN 8 1988 <br />73PAGE 01 <br />
