APPROVAL OF BUDGET AMENDMENT #049 - RADIO EQUIPMENT FOR FELLSMERE <br />VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE SERVICE <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 6/20/88: <br />TO: Charles Balczun DATE: June 20, 1988 FILE: <br />County Administrator <br />SUBJECT: Agenda Item - Request for <br />Fellsmere Volunteer Ambulance <br />Service to Purchase Radio <br />Equipment <br />(dW <br />FROM: Doug Wright, Director REFERENCES: <br />Emergency Management Services <br />It is respectfully requested that the information herein presented <br />be given formal consideration on an emergency basis by the Board <br />of County Commissioners at the next regular meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The Fellsmere Volunteer Ambulance Service has purchased a new <br />_emergency transport vehicle from funds generated through donations <br />and fund drives including door to door solicitations. The vehicle <br />has been put into service and is currently being utilized in <br />the North Indian River County area. The Fellsmere Volunteer <br />Ambulance Service is requesting assistance from the Board of <br />County Commissioners to pay for radio equipment installed in <br />the ambulance. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The Board of County Commissioners has prior provided radio equip- <br />ment for the Indian River County Volunteer Ambulance Squad and <br />the former Sebastian Volunteer Ambulance Squad. Funding is requested <br />from Revenue Sharing monies for this equipment which is used <br />on a daily basis to prevent the loss of life and serve.the populace <br />of our county when the need arises for assistance from the EMS <br />providers. <br />38 <br />3 <br />13 <br />
