Tuesday, July 5, 1988 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />July 5, 1988, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. Scurlock, <br />Jr., Chairman; Gary C. Wheeler, Vice Chairman; Richard N. Bird; <br />and Margaret C. Bowman. Absent was Carolyn K. Eggert, who was <br />out of town. Also present were*Charles P. Balczun, County <br />Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of <br />County Commissioners; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Russell Burns, Chaplain of the Cox -Gifford Funeral Home, <br />gave the invocation, and Commissioner Bowman led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Administrator Balczun asked that 'a request from the local <br />Veterans of Foreign Wars Post for assistance in the Federal <br />Commodity Distribution Program be added to the agenda under his <br />matters as 9A (5). <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Bowman, Commissioner Eggert being absent, the <br />Board unanimously (4-0) approved the above addition <br />to the agenda. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Commissioner Bird requested that Item 3 be removed from the <br />Consent Agenda for discussion. <br />141 <br />,JUL 51998 <br />
