Tuesday, August 2, 1988 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />August 2, 1988, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Gary C. Wheeler, Vice Chairman; Margaret <br />C. Bowman; and Carolyn K. Eggert: Commissioner Richard N. Bird <br />was on vacation. Also present were Charles P. Balczun, County <br />Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of <br />County Commissioners`; Joseph Baird, OMB Director; and Barbara <br />Bonnah, Deputy Clerk.' <br />The Chairman called'the meeting to order, and Commissioner <br />Wheeler led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Commissioner Wheeler requested the addition to today's <br />Agenda of a discussion regarding the County Administrator's <br />contract. However, Commissioner Eggert asked if the discussion <br />could be scheduled for next week's meeting when a full Board will <br />be present, and Commissioner Wheeler agreed to a definite agenda <br />item for next week. <br />Chairman Scurlock announced that the discussion regarding <br />the hiring of outside labor counsel, which was requested as an <br />addition by the Personnel Director, would not be added to today's <br />Agenda. <br />Commissioner Eggert requested the addition of a discussion <br />concerning the hiring of an outside, independent hearing officer <br />In the matter regarding the recent suspension of the Library <br />Director. <br />BOOK "A"F •3.1 <br />
