Gifford Area Sewer Project <br />Contract #2, Effluent Disposal System, Indian River.County, FL <br />JUSTIFICATION_:• <br />This Change Order represents: <br />1.) The contract requirement of an on-site engineer's <br />office was waived, resulting in a 9600.00 deduction in <br />Mobilization costs. <br />2.) Hawks Nest Golf Course, the site of the spray <br />irrigation of effluent from the Gifford Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant, has donated an easement to Indian River <br />County for the installation of the 16" diameter effluent <br />disposal line and a future 8" diameter force main to <br />service *the Bent Pine Golf Course sewer service node. <br />This easement resulted in a deduction of 912,500.00 from <br />the contract price reflecting a reduction in the amount of <br />Clearing and Hauling of debris material within the Indian <br />River Farms right-of-way, north of the North Relief Canal. <br />3.) The proposed aerial crossing of Lateral "H" canal is <br />to be modified and expanded.to accommodate a future 8" <br />diameter force main to service the Bent Pine sewer node. <br />This—wastewater in -to -be treated by the Gifford Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant currently under construction. This will <br />increase the contract price by 922,500.00. <br />4.) Expansion and modification of the North Relief Canal <br />aerial crossing to accommodate a future 8" diameter sewage <br />force main, which will service the Bend Pine Golf Course <br />wastewater node. This will increase the contract price by <br />025,00.00. <br />5.) Due to the recent change in Florida Sales Tax laws <br />eliminating the requirement of a Florida Service Tax, this <br />contract cost will be reduced by the amount $12,267.88. <br />The net change in contract price for this Change Order is <br />an increase *of $22,132.12. It should be noted $302,638.12 <br />remains 'within the contingency funds of the Farmers Home <br />Administration budget for the entire Gifford wastewater <br />treatment system. <br />21 BOOK 73 FnF, 332 <br />
