MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, to approve the interim <br />salary adjustment for the Acting County Adminis- <br />trator, based on a $62,000 annual salary as <br />suggested by Mr. Collins in his memo dated <br />August 15, 1988. <br />Commissioner Eggert realized that Mr. Collins feels a great <br />duty to his on-going litigation, but expressed the hope that he <br />feels the same towards the administration of County government <br />which is second on his list. <br />Acting Administrator Collins assured the Board of his <br />dedication to serving the County. <br />THE VICE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE.QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously (4-0), <br />Chairman Scurlock being absent. <br />Vice Chairman Wheeler expressed the Board's pleasure with <br />the actions Mr. Collins has taken as Acting.County Administrator. <br />DISCUSSION RE SEARCH FOR NEW COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />Acting Administrator Collins noted that last week he <br />distributed a memo that basically talked about the alternatives <br />of either placing the ads ourselves for the position of County <br />Administrator and going through the Personnel Department or <br />utilizing a search firm to try and find an Administrator. He <br />personally favored going with a search firm for the reason that <br />we have an understaffed Personnel Department; also, there is no <br />Assistant Administrator and he is splitting his time as Adminis- <br />trator with County Attorney matters, and to follow up on the <br />candidates and do some investigation is going to be time <br />consuming.
