GIFFORD SEWER PROJECT - MISCELLANEOUS ROAD PAVING <br />The Board reviewed memo of the Public Works Director: <br />TO: William Collins II, <br />Acting County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Gifford Sewer Project - Miscellaneous Road Paving <br />DATE: August 17, 1988 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Designated road paving and restoration as a part of the Gifford <br />Sewer project will result in many small sections of roadway <br />unpaved or not resurfaced. To complete the paving and <br />resurfacing, Masteller & Moler and staff have prepared a list of <br />roadways recommended for completion. Approximately 3400 LF of <br />new paving is recommended at a cost of $15/ft results in a <br />contract cost of $51,000 plus limerock costs of $10,000. <br />Resurfacing of existing paved roads is recommended to cost <br />$11,145. To complete the area, the the total cost will be <br />$72,145, based on above cost. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The alternatives include connecting small unpaved road sections <br />or leaving the connections unpaved. Funding can come from Road <br />and Bridge Department FY1988/89 Paving funds ($400,000 budgeted). <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends that the paving be approved. A change order <br />with the Gifford Sewer Contractor is recommended so that the <br />paving will be accomplished under current bid costs. Funding to <br />be from Fund 111-214-541-035.31. <br />Commissioner Eggert expressed the hope that if we ever get <br />into such a situation again, that we can try to find these roads <br />up front. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved the <br />paving described above and having a change order <br />with the Gifford Sewer Contractor so that the <br />paving will be accomplished under current bid costs; <br />funding to be as recommended by staff. <br />97 <br />UG 2 31999 Bou 73 r,�Lu 595 <br />
