I <br />L -J <br />Administrator Collins advised that he would respond to.the <br />the School Board that Mrs. Geyer may serve as an alternate, but <br />may not vote, and if they wish to designate an alternate that is <br />a voting member, it should be a member of the School Board. <br />t <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously denied <br />the appointment of Kathleen Geyer as alternate for <br />Gene Waddell on the TPC. <br />D. Proclamation - Emergency Medical Services Week <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, each year in Indian River County highway <br />crashes are a major cause of death and disabilityl- <br />WHEREAS, our EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES teams answer <br />these calls for help for motor vehicle crashes and all other <br />emergencies: <br />WHEREAS, we can thank our EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES <br />SPECIALIST for remanding our citizens about the dangers of <br />drinking and driving about the importance of wearing safety, <br />belts: about putting our children in safety seatsl about <br />being alert pedestrians) and about our motorcyclists wearing <br />their helmets: <br />WHEREAS, the EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE SPECIALISTS in <br />Indian River County include the dispatchers who take our <br />emergency calls, paramedics and emergency medical technicians <br />who arrive on the scene, and the nurses and physicians who <br />staff our emergency room at Indian River Memorial Hospital <br />S <br />WHEREAS, it is important for the citizens of Indian <br />River County to know about our EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES and <br />to acknowledge their accomplishmental to learn more about <br />what to do in a medical emergency) and how citizens can <br />benefit from reminders about ways to prevent emergencies from <br />happening) •' <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />..COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the week <br />of September. 18, 1988 be designated as <br />,.i..f+ EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK <br />'." in Indian River - County. ��•• <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board urges all <br />citizens to become more aware of and. show appreciation for <br />our county's EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES SPECIALISTS and to <br />'.;''.support their efforts to promote safe, habits, especially on <br />4, <br />'our streets and hil4ways. <br />• �� �'° BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />'.
