SELECTION OF COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />Chairman Scurlock believed each Commissioner now has <br />interviewed each of the six candidates. He personally has <br />identified his top three choices; although, he found it very hard <br />to choose between them as he was impressed with all of them. He <br />ranked his choices as follows; <br />1. Chandler <br />2. Smith <br />3. McCowan <br />Commissioner Eggert listed her choices as: <br />1. Chandler <br />2. McCowan <br />3. Smith <br />Commissioner Bird listed his choices as: <br />1. McDowell <br />2. Smith <br />3. Chandler <br />Commissioner Bowman listed her choices as: <br />1. Chandler <br />2. Smith <br />3. McCowan <br />Commissioner Wheeler listed his choices as: <br />1. Smith <br />2. McCowan <br />3. Chandler <br />Commissioner Wheeler noted that although he ranked his <br />choices in the above order, he really thought all three are <br />absolutely great candidates, and Commissioner Bowman agreed that <br />all are very well qualified. <br />Chairman Scurlock asked that the Board decide on two top <br />candidates to be further checked into before reaching a final <br />decision. <br />Discussion ensued, and it was.agreed to further investigate <br />Mr. Chandler and Mr. Smith. <br />Commissioner Bird wished to know whether we are entitled to <br />ask Mercer/Slavin to do any further checking now that we are down <br />to a short list of two. <br />Acting Administrator Collins advised that they are not <br />obligated, but he believed they are flexible.
