entities that take a part in emergency medical service for the <br />County plan, and if that will best unify them, he felt obligated <br />to support it. <br />Commissioner Bowman stated that she will support the County <br />plan also and hoped that in the interim there is considerable <br />work done on protocol and improvement of communications, which <br />she felt are the reasons the present system has broken down and <br />gotten out of hand. <br />Commissioner Eggert believed that we do have excellent <br />medical protocol; the problem is operational protocol. She <br />pointed out that we are all under central dispatch now. <br />Commissioner Wheeler expressed his belief that we will have <br />excellent patient care. We will have a different management <br />system but the same players, and he felt the approach the County <br />has taken will most effectively manage the system for the good of <br />the entire community. He has supported the County approach to <br />this for some time and believed it is the most efficient way to <br />address the problem. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt quite optimistic.
