DEC 2 0 1988 <br />BOOK 75 F,A, E 4:31 <br />American Business Interiors, Inc., the company who provided the <br />modular desk area furniture, can modify the area with the addition <br />of pieces to make it larger, provide more work area, and ensure <br />efficiency, comfort, and workability for the computer/display writer <br />operators. In addition, these improvements will eliminate any <br />possible future health and posture problems. <br />Attached is a proposal from American Business Interiors, Inc. <br />totalling $2,491.44 which is below bidding requirements. However, <br />funds were not budgeted in the Fiscal Year 1988-89 Budget for these <br />improvements. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends -that the Board of <br />County Commissioners approve the purchase of the required modular <br />items to correct the secretarial work area. US -88 -10 -CCS - ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On May 3, 1988, the Department of Utility Services received <br />authorization from the Board of County Commissioners to conduct a <br />feasibility study to provide sewer services for the east side of <br />U.S. Highway #1 north of 12th Street. The feasibility study was <br />prepared and submitted by Marshall, McCully & Associates. Alternate <br />I, Section D was chosen as the best method for providing these <br />services to the designated service territory. <br />31 <br />
