JAN c6 Jti9 <br />EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT <br />between <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />and <br />JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />BOOK 75 PAGE 516 <br />THIS AGREEMENT, dated this 3rd day of January, 1989, by <br />and between INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA TCOUNTY), 1840 25th Street, <br />Vero Beach, FL 32960, and JAMES E. CHANDLER (ADMINISTRATOR), 1315 N. <br />47th Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33021, <br />WITNESSETH: That for and in consideration of the mutual <br />covenants and other premises contained herein, COUNTY and <br />ADMINISTRATOR agree as follows: <br />1. EMPLOYMENT - ADMINISTRATORshall be employed as County <br />Administrator for COUNTY for an indefinite term beginning January 9, <br />1989, and, as ADMINISTRATOR, shall perform the duties listed in <br />§1.1-34 of the Code of Indian River County. <br />2. SALARY AND BENEFITS - ADMINISTRATOR shall receive a <br />salary of $70,000 per year plus 15 days annual vacation, sick leave <br />benefits, and other personnel benefits as provided for employees in <br />the Personnel Rules and Regulations. ADMINISTRATOR may accrue not <br />more than 30 days vacation, unless the COUNTY Personnel Rules and <br />Regulations are amended to allow for more accrual. In advance of <br />each new fiscal year, COUNTY and ADMINISTRATOR shall discuss <br />ADMINISTRATOR's performance and mutually agree on any salary <br />increase, which increase shall become effective October 1st <br />of each year. <br />3.- CAR ALLOWANCE - ADMINISTRATOR shall be authorized a <br />car allowance in the amount of $275 per month, or any higher amount <br />as may be established by the COUNTY, and shall receive out -of -county <br />mileage pursuant to the standard COUNTY policy. <br />4. PENSION - If it becomes legally possible to do so, <br />COUNTY shall cooperate with ADMINISTRATOR in having ADMINISTRATOR's <br />pension rights earned during this contract transferred from the <br />Florida Retirement System (FRS) to the ICMA Plan; provided that the <br />cost of any such transfer shall not exceed the cost to the COUNTY <br />under the FRS. <br />5, MOVING COUNTY agrees to pay reasonable moving <br />expenses for AbMINTSTRATOR's household goods. ' <br />6. TERMINATION - This contract may be terminated by <br />ADMINISTRATOR at any time and for any reason by resignation and <br />after 30 days written notice, in which case ADMINISTRATOR will be <br />paid through the last day worked, or by the COUNTY at any time and <br />for any reason by giving ADMINISTRATOR 90 days notice.
