pr- <br />itkItiN I 0 1989 <br />BOOK 75 FAd 558 <br />TO: William Collins DATE: January 4, 1989 FILE: <br />Acting County Administrator <br />Approval of a Certificate of <br />SUBJECT: Public Convenience and Necessity <br />for Atlantic Ambulance Company <br />to provide EMS ALS Inter- <br />facility Transport Service <br />FROM: Doug Wright Director REFERENCES: <br />Emergency Management Services <br />• <br />On January 4, 1989, the Emergency Services Coordinating Committee <br />voted to recommend that the Board of County Commissioners approve <br />the issuance of a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity <br />to Atlantic Ambulance Company to provide EMS ALS Interfacility Trans- <br />port Service in Indian River County. <br />Indian River Memorial Hospital will be the primary provider for inter- <br />facility transfers and a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necess <br />ity for the Hospital is being addressed under separate cover. Atlantic <br />Ambulance would serve as a back up to Indian River Memorial Hospital <br />should a situation present itself wherein the Hospital could not <br />accommodate an interfacility transfer due to the emergency transport <br />vehicle being utilized on another run. <br />It is recommended that the Board of County Commissioners approve <br />the issuance of a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity <br />to Atlantic Ambulance Company as provided for in Ordinance #87-66. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone present wished to be heard. <br />There were none, and he thereupon closed the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously approved <br />the issuance of a Certificate of Public Convenience & <br />Necessity for Atlantic Ambulance Company. <br />26 <br />
