The Certificate to be provided to the South County Fire District <br />for EMS ALS service is to be granted internally by the County as <br />an EMS provider under the Advanced Life Support License to be issued <br />to Indian River County. <br />Approval is recommended for Station #5 and #7 to participate in the <br />EMS system as outlined in the referenced proposal in a comprehensive <br />approach with a single focus of management to accomplish the objective <br />of excellent patient care in a timely manner utilizing a minimum of <br />tax generated revenues. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone present wished to be heard. <br />There were none, and he thereupon declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br />Commissioner Eggert commented that this Certificate will be <br />an internal one that is not issued separately but comes under the <br />County umbrella. Right now the other providers have <br />certificates, but the Fire Department doesn't. <br />Director Wright confirmed that was correct and noted that <br />the other two BLS agencies will be surrendering their BLS <br />licenses when we receive the ALS license and will come under the <br />County umbrella. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously approved <br />the granting of the Certificate of Public Convenience <br />& Necessity to South County Fire District internally <br />under the ALS License to be issued to Indian River <br />County. <br />JAN 10 1989 <br />29 <br />BOOK 75 FAL 561 <br />
