IRC Bid 89-43, Pulvi-mixer <br />BM(.7 F 6t 1 <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 1112/89: <br />DATE: JANUARY 12, 1989 <br />TO: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />THRU: JAMES T. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: H.T. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERV <br />SUBJECT: INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BID NUMBER 89-43 <br />PULVI-MIXER BID AWARD <br />BACKGROUND <br />Bids were received on Wednesday, December 14, 1988 for the subject <br />piece of equipment. The bid was properly advertised and twelve (12) <br />invitations were sent out with only two (2) vendors responding. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The bids were reviewed by applicable staff to ascertain compliance <br />with specifications. The low bid was submitted by M.D. Moody and <br />Sons, Inc. for a Rex machine at a net cost of $66,785.00 with <br />trade-in. This piece of equipment is compatible with a similar <br />machine now in use, which would allow parts to be interchangeable. <br />FUNDING <br />Funds were provided for in the capital portion of the applicable <br />department's budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff -recommends M.D. Moody and Sons, Inc. be awarded the bid for <br />the subject piece of equipment. <br />Commissioner Eggert couldn't find any mention of what was <br />budgeted for this, and Public Works Director Jim Davis advised <br />that $70,000 had been budgeted for this piece of equipment. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously awarded <br />IRC Bid #89-43 to the low bidder, M.D. Moody and Sons, <br />Inc. in the amount of $66,785 for a pulvi-mixer, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />14 <br />INN <br />
